Around the world, countries, communities and businesses want many of the same things: to be productive, healthy and safe. We provide the world with clean, safe, and affordable energy – energy that can reduce carbon emissions, promote cleaner air, and light homes and power plants – all produced and transported through a modern energy infrastructure operated by a world-class workforce.
The energy we produce is liquefied natural gas, or LNG. We began operations in 2003, and we are already the largest LNG producer in the United States and the second largest LNG operator in the world. Our LNG has reached dozens of markets on five continents, and demand for our fuel is expected to grow as countries around the world look for cleaner ways to support their economies.
Our facilities
Our energy infrastructure represents more than $38 billion in investments in the energy of the future and demonstrates our ability to deliver. Our company has set industry records for early start-up of new liquefaction facilities and is the company that produces and exports 1,000 cargoes of LNG the fastest.
What we do is deliver LNG to customers, but it’s how we do it that sets us apart.
We purchase natural gas in the reliable, transparent and liquid North American gas market, process the natural gas into LNG and offer our customers the option of loading LNG onto their vessels at our terminals, or we deliver LNG to regasification facilities around the world.
Approximately 90% of Cheniere’s expected aggregate LNG capacity, both completed and under construction, is under long-term take-or-pay arrangements with creditworthy counterparties. The remaining LNG volumes that we are able to produce are available to our integrated marketing division for sale in the marketplace.
