Israel’s inaugural floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) terminal has received its maiden shipment of LNG from BP, marking the commencement of its commercial operations, as reported by local media.
During the inauguration ceremony on January 24, energy officials praised the FLNG import terminal for its capability to alleviate Israel’s gas shortage until the anticipated onset of the Tamar reservoir in April. Moreover, they emphasized that the terminal would continue to play a pivotal role in ensuring the country’s energy security in the future.
With an annual capacity of 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas, the floating terminal stands as a significant addition to Israel’s energy infrastructure, providing a reliable source of LNG to meet the nation’s growing energy demands.
